OpenSIGLE - OAI
OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) is a protocol developed by the Open Archives Initiative. It allows to harvest (collect) metadata from a given archive (service provider) and to integrate them in new services (service provider).
The protocol operates with metadata in Dublin Core format, but other formats are possible.
Requests are made through http by adding one of the verbs below to the base URL: http://www.opengrey.eu/oai/.
- Identify
- provides information of the archive or repository
- ListSets
- lists the available sets
- ListIdentifiers
- returns the list of records with their persistent identifier (handle)
- ListRecords
- returns the records in simple Dublin Core format
- GetRecord
- starts the transfer of the record
